It was at our initial starting in 2017 when we established a children’s home. The number of kids has since then grown to 21. These are children from impoverished families, total orphans and abandoned ones.
With a very small space rented, we’ve managed to restore their hope and happiness by providing for their needs, ranging from rent, food, water, education, medication, clothes and much more. It’s however very challenging to always keep up with the excess demand since we barely have stable income streams to sustain this project. It’s from part of the team’s monthly salaries at work, income from the salon project, donations from both local and foreign friends that we’re able to provide for this big family.
We still have a huge need for food, water, clothes, and education support for these children. It’s our primary goal to atleast educate these children and make them responsible citizens of the nation. It’s always difficult to predict the health safety of the kids overtime, and we always face a problem of disease outbreaks which are unplanned. We therefore have a big expenditure on medication, we humbly call for your support towards providing health insurance for every child.
Food is a vital need at the children’s home, and it’s still very challenging to ably provide adequate food for them. There’s always price fluctuations of food on the market, and this is a big problem to our side. Some days get harsh and we hardly provide something to eat. We always have to buy all the foods we eat, we have a master plan of buying land ($7000) inorder to be able to grow our own food and have more space for home works. On average, we need atleast $3000 inorder to adequately support the children’s home on a monthly basis.
We have established a grand fundraiser dubbed the Jeremiah promise campaign, organized by our Canadian ambassadors working together with Bridges of Hope international. This will run for 3 years, and the grand plan is to drive our children’s home to self sustainability.
